Iran knowledge-based firms increase by 200 times

TEHRAN, Feb. 17 (MNA) – Iranian Vice-President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy Rouhollah Dehqani Firouzabadi said that the number of knowledge-based firms in Iran has increased by 200 times.

"The number of knowledge-based companies increased from 50 in 2008 to 9,600 in 2023, showing an increase by 200 times," Vice-President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy Rouhollah Dehqani Firouzabadi said in a meeting with the managers of top knowledge-based companies in Zanjan province on Saturday.

"Although the number of knowledge-based companies in the country has increased, the problems have increased alongside while resources are limited,: the scientific vice president said.

He also emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence (AI), saying that, a huge amount of budget has been set aside to carry out the necessary measures in the field of AI for the next year.

He called on the knowledge-based companies to consider cooperation and unity in their projects more seriously than previously.
